New Year's Eve, December 31st, 2011.....
Yes, I have spent many a New Year's Eve doing the party hardy scene. This year the glitter and a little glam were showcased with glitter on my chest. Quite some years ago, a fellow female member of my sex abuse counseling group gave me a small, plastic container of costume glitter. She had owned a costume shop in her better times and generously offered me the glitter. It's the kind that showgirls wear; it doesn't come off easily and it catches the light beautifully. I stick my index finger in the little pot and gently touch it to my chest, just below my neckline and there it shines and shimmers and let me tell you, I feel the power of it's tiny little lights...they are mine to wear and to share. Many smiles are sent my way by folks glancing, staring and then smiling. The glitter on my chest and a fine glass of bubbly (Gruet sparkling wine from New Mexico..yes, New Mexico vineyard...a superb wine) were enough fireworks to welcome 2012 in elegant style and fun finesse.
